Tennis Tracker: Rybakina beats Ostapenko to set up Kalinina final

22:41 CET - The rain stopped and Elena Rybakina (23) flew out of the traps to win four straight games to make her way into the final at the expense of Jelena Ostapenko (25) via a 6-2, 6-4 scoreline.
21:50 CET - Rain has stopped play between Elena Rybakina and Jelena Ostapenko with the Latvian 4-2 up having broken Rybakina's serve in the second set. The Kazakh star did win the first set.
20:37 CET - The second semi-final in the women's draw is underway and the first set has gone the way of Elena Rybakina (23), winning it 6-2 over Jelena Ostapenko (25).
18:32 CET - The Ukrainian persisted and held on to her lead as she made her way to the Italian Open final after defeating Veronika Kudermetova 5-7, 7-5, 2-6.
17:43 CET - Veronika Kudermetova (26) managed to bounce back and win the second set 7-5 as her match with Anhelina Kalinina (26) moves to a final deciding set.

8:05 CET - Iga Swiatek (21) said she was taking no chances with her fitness ahead of her French Open title defence later this month after the world number one retired from her Italian Open quarter-final due to a thigh issue.
Top seed and two-time defending champion in Rome, Swiatek was tied 2-2 with Elena Rybakina in the deciding set on Wednesday when she decided she could not continue.
The Pole had attempted to carry on playing with her leg strapped up after a medical timeout but said she felt pain while stretching on court.
"For me, the most important thing is to kind of play it safe and not exploit my body so much in such a difficult conditions, after having to play few matches in night session and after midnight," Swiatek said in a statement on Thursday.
