Cremonese won for the first time this season, having previously not won in the top flight since 1996. Defeat dropped José Mourinho's team (who was sent off) to fifth place in Serie A.

Cremonese's drought is over. By beating Roma (2-1) in the 24th round of matches, Ballardini's team won their first Serie A game this season and returned to winning ways in the top flight for the first time since... 31 March 1996.

The victory started in the first half, when Tsadjtout (17 minutes) opened the scoring. Down a goal down, Roma controlled the game with possession, but could not trouble Carnesecchi's goal.

The nerves on the bench of the Italian capital were evident and, on his return from the locker room, José Mourinho was sent off for vehement protests. This means that the Portuguese coach will not be on the bench for the clash with Juventus in the next round.

Spinazzola took advantage of a blunder in the Cremonese defence and scored with his first shot on target for Roma. However, this was the home side's day and on 82 minutes Rui Patrício brought down Okereke and a penalty was awarded, converted by Ciofani.
